Golf Tournament Raises $130,000 for Kids at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 28, 2017 — On Nov. 15, the Florida Hospital Memorial Foundation raised more than $130,000 during the eighth annual golf tournament on the Jones Course and Hills Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.

Nearly 200 players joined Florida Hospital for this scramble tournament.

The proceeds will benefit sick children at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Opened in May, the hospital’s 10-bed inpatient pediatric unit is inspired by the spirit of Daytona Beach, featuring designs of ocean waves, palm trees, and dolphins, as well as cars racing on a track, chairs in the shape of tires and tool chests, and blimps. In addition, the Daytona Beach hospital also provides 24/7 emergency pediatric care for children in an eight-bed pediatric ER.

Orlando-based contractor Robins & Morton was the event’s presenting sponsor.

“We are extremely grateful to Robins and Morton, as well as all of our other community partners. Their generosity helped ensure this year’s event was the most successful golf tournament we’ve hosted in the last eight years,” said Julie Rand, Florida Hospital Memorial Foundation executive director.
