Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Names Operating Room Manager

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 10, 2017 – Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has selected Aletha Boyd to serve as the manager of the operating room.

In this role, she will be responsible for managing the clinical activities in the Daytona Beach hospital’s main operating room and endoscopy unit.

Boyd has 10 years of experience as a registered nurse, as well as with seven years of experience as a surgical technologist. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of clinical roles, including night shift trauma charge nurse, operating room supervisor/charge nurse, and pediatric registered nurse, as well as a postpartum registered nurse and a labor and delivery certified surgical technologist/first assistant.

She has been with Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center for two years and most recently served as operating room charge nurse. In this role, she was responsible for managing the staff and case load, and facilitating patient care with physicians, anesthesia services, and staff.

Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Boyd completed the surgical technology program and earned an associate degree in nursing from Daytona State College. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jacksonville University.

Additionally, she is certified in basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and pediatric advanced life support (PALS).
